Compelling Benefits of Pilates

Pilates is so popular that everybody seems to know about it. The main purpose of the Pilates exercise is to strengthen the body by means of stretching, breathing, and other body activities involved in the exercises which strengthen the body's core.

It is being widely practiced by people from all walks of life from housewivws to ballet dancers. Although it is effective for weight loss and physical improvement, it should not be considered as a cardiovascular exercise. Since Pilates is a low intensity exercise, it can be done in conjunction with aerobics and other healthy exercises. However, before taking any action, you should consult your instructor first just to be certain that you will not cause harm to yourself.

Joseph Pilates, who is a German National, is the one who invented the Pilates exercises. Mr. Pilates intentionally made these exercises for himself since he was frail, asthmatic, and sick as a child. When he was old enough, he was arrested in France and was assigned to be in charge of the medical facility of the prison. Inspired as he was, Mr. Pilates decided to use the exercises for the benefit of the sick. Also, he tried to attach springs to the beds in the hospitals which he eventually developed to be the first Pilates equipment. Not long after, Mr. Pilates moved to the U.S. and was able to open his own Pilates studio.

Through the years, Pilates exercise has been considered to be helpful in improving the overall state of the body. Basically, Pilates exercise is done with breathing, stretching, and use of simple machines. The main focus of the exercise is the core (back, buttocks, and abdomen) of the body. Some claim that Pilates is better than yoga because it promotes proper posture and flexibility in the process. Also, the machines involved in Pilates are very challenging for it enables some parts of your body to move around in different directions while you stand firm in a certain position. This trains the body to be strong while enduring strain.

Moreover, Pilates exercise is said to be good for the mental state of an individual as well. The exercise involves a lot of muscle control that requires both mental and physical ability to do properly. Furthermore, Pilates also reminds people of their body posture by the exercises that they perform. Through practiced breathing exercises, people will be able to develop mental focus as well.

Many people have been left amazed by the results that Pilates has given them. They say that it makes their bodies well-balanced and a lot stronger. Also, after doing the Pilates exercises, your muscles will be very well-defined and visible. Pilates can also be used for higher endurance, increased energy levels, and overall well being. Moreover, this exercise can be helpful for rehabilitation of injuries to the body also. Some doctors even recommend Pilates for limb inquiries. The benefits of Pilates really seems endless.
